KOCHI,
Sept. 21. — The US-based Sigma Micro group of companies is
expanding operations in India by starting its first state-of-the-art
software development facility at the Infopark in Kochi.
Ind-Sigma Infotech, an affiliate of Indiana-based Sigma Micro group
of companies has taken up a 5000 square ft facility at a building
in Infopark, which will accommodate up to 60 employees, Sigma Micro
group founder and CEO, Mr Albert H Langsenkamp told at a press meet
here last night.
“India has always been in the back of my mind for future expansion.
I look forward to increasing our stake and resources in Ind-sigma
and India”, he said.
High software development costs in USA had forced the company to
look to India and Kochi, he said. English speaking employees with
a strong analytical ability and high quality with low cost equation
in software development led them to Kochi, he said.
He said Bangalore, Pune, Chennai and Hyderabad were all considered
before they zeroed in on Kochi. — PTI
