The
Indonesian government will extend visa-on-arrival facility to nationalists
of 16 countries including India in a bid to attract more tourists,
reports Xinhua.
Udin Saifuddin, Deputy Minister of Marketing in the Culture and
Tourism Ministry, said the facility would be extended to people
from China, India, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the Netherlands, Spain,
Ireland and Austria.
He declined to mention the other eight countries.
"We expect that within the next three or four months, possibly
in September, the government policy will be issued," Saifuddin
was quoted by Media Indonesia as saying.
The ministry also proposed to extend the length of the visa facility
from 10 to 60 days as well as give the option of extending the visa.
According to official estimates, the Indonesian government expects
